I joined Dental Town at the beginning of 2016 and am super blessed to have been in the dental profession for 23 years already. My entire career has been in both general and pediatric dentistry simultaneously, but my true love is working with precious, wiggly children. I was introduced to the pediatric side of dentistry immediately after graduating from Lanier Technical Institute. I quickly noticed that kids would totally trust me and sweetly do what I ask all because of the silly little princess voice that I have, despite how nervous they might actually be about their dental visit. This is truly a gift, and I cherish that ability everyday. I have two blonde-haired, blue-eyed boys of my own, which provide me plenty of funny opportunities to “practice” dealing with the super wiggly and the super talkative.
When my kids were younger and less mobile, I was blessed to start and run a 501c3 non-profit dental hygiene charity, called Big Smiles Big Hearts…Spreading God’s love one smile at a time. Through many gracious donations from others, I was able to purchase thousands of toothbrush kits, fluoride, and hygiene instruments and travel to children’s homes in Jamaica and Haiti about every 3 months. Those sweet kids were then able to get some of the preventative dental care during the day which they so desperately needed, then were blessed to hear about how special God thought they were through VBS fun and crafts at night.
These days my boys and I stick a little closer to home and enjoy being part of all the giving, serving and loving that our local church does to come along side those in need right here in Forsyth county.
I am SUPER excited to be part of the Dental Town family now, where they are known by their big smiles AND big hearts!
